Behind the recipes
Hi, I’m Lindsay
Hi! I’m Lindsay. I’m glad you stopped by. Welcome to Our Future Homestead where I share all about
*Cooking from Scratch
*Preserving the Harvest
*Growing Food
When it comes to food, these are the three topics I love most. I am in my happy place when I get to be planning for, preparing, or working in my garden. When I am able to harvest from my own garden, it gives me great joy to either take that food and prepare seasonally fresh recipes with it or preserve it for later on.
If I can’t grow it, I want to be at my local u-pick farms or farmers markets finding the freshest items to cook and preserve.
Old-fashioned Homesteading
Old fashioned homesteading means slowing down from the fast paced life and getting back to so many skills lost in the last few generations. From gardening to canning to raising our own animals, we have chosen this life. Won’t you come along with us and also slow down a bit?
Gardening
To say gardening is a passion of mine is a bit of an understatement. It has always been a part of my life, but in the last few years, I have switched over to starting most of my own seeds and branching out on new things to grow. Both flowers and vegetables fill my love of gardening. Come along as I share about sowing seeds, saving seeds, and some great veggies and flowers to plant in your garden.
