On the homestead, caring for animals is a daily lesson in responsibility, patience, and respect for life.

On our homestead we have been raising rabbits for many years. We raise them for meat, but there are also many other benefits to raising rabbits. We have written many resources for you if you are also wanting to raise rabbits.

We also raise chickens as egg layers and for meat on pasture in the summers.

Most recently we have started raising Idaho Pastured Pigs (IPPS) and have been learning a lot about raising pigs.

For the meat we do not raise, we have learned to partner with local farmers to purchase a half or whole share. You can read on about tips for how to do that too.
