Cream Cheese Fruit Dip

This cream cheese fruit dip is made with real ingredients and such a great treat with fresh fruit or sweet gram crackers. I like to serve it to hungry kids when they get home from school. It’s also a great potluck dish or really for any occasion.

As I was looking through my cookbook binder of all the recipes I have collected over the years, I came across 2 different versions of fruit dip that we have loved. But they included ingredients we have tried to stay away from such as marshmallow fluff. Since we all loved having this yummy treat, I wanted a more healthy version using ingredients that aren’t full of things I can’t pronounce. Thankfully a friend shared her recipe when we were talking about my problem. Here is the more natural, and might I say much more yummy, version of my childhood cream cheese fruit dip.

Ingredients for Cream Cheese Fruit Dip

  • 12 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or coconut sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1.5 cups whipping cream
We love to dip strawberries into the fruit cream dip

Step by Step Instructions for Cream Cheese Fruit Dip

  1. Beat the cream cheese, maple syrup, vanilla, salt, and lemon juice with a hand mixer or in a stand mixer.
  2. Beat until fluffy and well combined (2-3 minutes). Use a spatula to push down the sides if needed.
  3. Add the whipping cream (not whipped yet).
  4. Continue mixing until combined and the mixture is forming stiff peaks.
  5. That’s it! Now serve with some fresh fruit or sweet crackers.

What Should I Serve it With?

  • Cut up apples
  • Strawberries
  • Or any other fresh fruit that can be dipped
  • Gram crackers

Notes

This is a large recipe. It is great for taking to a potluck or if you have a large family or gathering. If you just have a few, you can 1/2 the recipe.

You can also put the cream fruit dip in the fridge for a few days. Leftovers always get eaten here.

Depending on your family's sweet preference, the amount of maple syrup can be upped a little. The way it is isn't real sweet.

Also, depending on the time of year and the fruit you have, you might not want to make it any sweeter. If your strawberries are fresh off the plant and bursting with flavor, you might want to even lesson the sweetener. Play with the amounts your family likes. You can always add a bit more at the end.
