Homestead Where You Are
It took us a full 8 years of searching before finding our own future homestead. We chose to spend that time expanding our skills with more from scratch cooking, learning to bake bread, and expanding our gardens as much as we could in our suburban neighborhood. We also got laying hens, rabbits for fertilizer and meat, and raised meat birds. From shopping at local you-pick farms to sourcing local pastured meat, we did all we could to homestead where we were.

Hi, I’m Lindsay
Hi! I’m Lindsay. I’m glad you stopped by. Welcome to Our Future Homestead where I share all about
*Cooking from Scratch
*Preserving the Harvest
*Growing Food
When it comes to food, these are the three topics I love most. I am in my happy place when I get to be planning for, preparing, or working in my garden. When I am able to harvest from my own garden, it gives me great joy to either take that food and prepare seasonally fresh recipes with it or preserve it for later on.
If I can’t grow it, I want to be at my local u-pick farms or farmers markets finding the freshest items to cook and preserve.
