Skillet Fried Sweet Corn

This skillet fried sweet corn is a delicious sweet and savory side dish cooked up in a cast iron skillet that your whole family will love.

Ingredients
  

  • 5-6 ears of corn kernels removed
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar optional - not needed if your corn is real sweet
  • 2/3 cup of water
  • 2-3 teaspoons of corn starch
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream can use a little less or more
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Grab out a large cast iron skillet.
  • Next, turn on the stove to medium heat.
  • Melt the butter in the hot skillet.
  • Add the corn and stir it up for a few minutes, cooking it up a bit.
  • Add the water to the skillet. Stir it around and cook for a few more minutes.
  • Then sprinkle the corn starch over the top and stir it in.
  • Next, add the cream and again, stir it up.
  • Check the flavor and add salt and pepper if needed.
  • You can also add some sugar if your corn isn't sweet enough.
