Skillet Fried Sweet Corn

This skillet fried sweet corn is a delicious sweet and savory side dish cooked up in a cast iron skillet that your whole family will love.

Ingredients
  

  • 5-6 ears of corn kernels removed
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar optional - not needed if your corn is real sweet
  • 2/3 cup of water
  • 2-3 teaspoons of corn starch
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream can use a little less or more
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Grab out a large cast iron skillet.
  2. Next, turn on the stove to medium heat.
  3. Melt the butter in the hot skillet.
  4. Add the corn and stir it up for a few minutes, cooking it up a bit.
  5. Add the water to the skillet. Stir it around and cook for a few more minutes.
  6. Then sprinkle the corn starch over the top and stir it in.
  7. Next, add the cream and again, stir it up.
  8. Check the flavor and add salt and pepper if needed.
  9. You can also add some sugar if your corn isn't sweet enough.
